”Something magical happens with the colours during the day”
They idea behind these handmade tealight holders with poppies and linen flowers comes from a project Jeanette Hiiri was working on during her years at the shcool of design. Here, she made casts of stone, gras, and flowers. She painted the casts of nature and then mad a copy in porcelain. Hiiri was facinated by the nice looking porcelain, made transparent when light hits it. The result was a candleholder and as she explains: "Something magical happens with the colours during the day."
Fragile Flowers Give an Unique Form
Jeanette Hiiri got the idea by collection flowers and cutting them. She then placed them on a cast and molded the outside. Flowers are very fragile, so they are destroyed when the final cast is removed, and because of that it gives the holders a unique form.
